The Entrepreneurial Mindset Program for Government Employees exists to empower employees by exposing them to entrepreneurial thinking while immersing them in real-world entrepreneurial experiences. Those who take this exciting course learn to view their job from the perspective of ownership, empowerment, inspiration and innovative problem solving.
Those who complete this course will be able to:
- Develop critical thinking skills that will enable them to identify and evaluate opportunities, manage risks, and learn from the results.
- Understand the process that enables people with limited resources in public service organizations to transform an idea into a sustainable success.
- Transform problems into opportunities.
- Apply fundamental aspects of entrepreneurial thinking across disciplines and as a means of personal empowerment.
- Establish goals, identify resources, and determine the steps required to accomplish their goals.
- Identify and interact with local entrepreneurs within their own communities to solve real problems.
Course Structure:
The course consists of 8 lessons delivered online with video lessons and live interactive facilitator sessions.
Lesson 1: The Power to Choose
Lesson 2: Problems are Opportunities
Lesson 3: Ideas into Action
Lesson 4: The Power of Knowledge
Lesson 5: Creating Wealth
Lesson 6: Building Your Brand
Lesson 7: Creating Community
Lesson 8: The Power of Persistence
Participants will read course materials, complete assignments, interact on projects with fellow participants and create presentation of their innovative idea at the end of the course.
Participants will also connect online with other public service employees in our private Facebook Group.
Participants will have access to video content from other employees and entrepreneurs who are innovating change in their place of work.
Participants will receive the book "Who Owns the Ice House, 8 Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur" and access to the online course content.
Your Instructor
Tom is the Founder and CEO of TeamWork Logic.
I have been helping individuals and teams develop necessary skills for success in their work for over 20 years. I lead professional development for New Mexico's largest city government and I have been a college professor for over 18 years I have taught Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Team Development, Project Management and Construction Management.
I began my career as an artist with a heart for building things. Upon completing my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, I managed a residential remodeling company transforming old spaces into client realities. As time has passed, I have run several businesses, and finally took my desire for transformation and expanded it to greater depths in teaching and coaching others to transform their thinking and become viable contributors to society. I completed my Master’s degree in Adult Education and spend my time teaching others how to reach their potential and build strong organizations.
Becoming successful requires heart, passion and knowing the people that you are called to lead and serve.
